‘Couldn’t copy — clipboard blocked’
You might be here because: “couldn’t copy clipboard blocked” · “copy button doesn’t work in the app” · “can’t copy my api key” · “copy address does nothing”
Short answer
The app tried to write to your clipboard and the system refused, so it tells you instead of letting you assume the copy worked. Nothing was copied; select the text and copy it by hand. The key on the Connected panel is shown masked, so it can’t be copied by hand there: press Show next to the API key field under API & connection in Settings and select it there, or create a new key in the web dashboard.
Check first
- Is a clipboard manager or security tool blocking clipboard writes?
- Does copy work elsewhere in the app? The same message appears for the API key in Settings, the account id on the account card, and the session address in a session window.
Likely causes and fixes
- System or tool blocking the clipboard. Allow clipboard access for Driftstack, or copy manually.
- Copying the API key. Rather than copying, you can create a new key in the web dashboard for scripts; the app’s key is meant for the app.
If it still fails
A local system setting; nothing to change on the account.
